Green transformation (GT) and green growth (GG) are currently becoming a common trend on a global scale and are an irreversible focus in the development policies of every country and region to move towards development lasting. In response to this trend, Nha Trang City and Khanh Hoa province have collaborated with VinUniversity to create a comprehensive “Green Transformation and Green Growth Master Plan (2024-2030)”, with Nha Trang serving as an exemplar.

The master plan was developed by a group of domestic and international experts with rich experience in the field of GT and GG from VinUniversity and partners, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Nha Trang City. Based on international standards and deeply rooted in local characteristics, the project emphasizes the integration of green technology, digital transformation, and smart applications in crucial sectors that the City benefits from. This includes Green Industry, Green Agriculture, Green Urban Infrastructure, Green Transportation and Green Lifestyle. The master plan’s perspective puts the interests of people and businesses in Nha Trang at the center of the transformation and growth policy. The implementation of the project will rely on modern management, science and advanced technology based on mobilizing the participation of all stakeholders. In particular, the strategy and roadmap of GT-GG of Nha Trang City will be closely linked to the overall perspectives and goals of the government’s socio-economic development strategy, while carefully considering the local benefits and potential; combined with modern scientific models and can be implemented within allowed resources.

With each stride forward, the “Green Transformation and Green Growth Master Plan” aims to propel Nha Trang into the forefront of Asia’s most livable and environmentally friendly cities in which industries are developed toward green, smart, and sustainable ways, ensuring that the environment and natural landscapes are well-reserved. This master plan is an important basis for piloting a suitable GT-GG model at the scale of Nha Trang City, moving forward to adjust and expand to apply to the entire Khanh Hoa province.
