Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy Student Research Assistant to support the development of a Hotel Green Standard Management App aimed at promoting sustainability practices in the hospitality sector in Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa. This role will involve contributing to the app’s coding, content, user experience, and functionality to ensure it meets the region’s green standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, hotel managers, and sustainability experts to understand current practices and help develop a tool that will guide hotels in adopting environmentally friendly and resource-efficient measures.

• App Coding & Development Support:
  • Collaborate with the development team to assist in coding and enhancing the app, ensuring it aligns with the sustainability goals of the hotel industry. This may involve contributing to both front-end and back-end development, implementing new features, integrating sustainability tracking tools, and ensuring the app’s functionality is user-friendly and optimized for seamless operation across different devices. You will actively support the technical process to create an intuitive and efficient platform for hotel managers to monitor and improve their green practices.
• Content Development:
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging and informative content for the app, including sustainability guidelines, best practices, and educational resources that are tailored specifically to the local hotel industry.
  • Assist in developing practical tools within the app, such as checklists, sustainability metrics, and reporting features, to help hotels track and improve their green initiatives over time. Your input will ensure the app offers clear, actionable insights that empower hotel staff to implement and measure sustainable practices effectively.
• User Experience & Feedback:
  • Contribute to user experience research by testing the app interface and gathering feedback from hotel stakeholders (e.g., managers, staff).
  • Help design user-friendly features that make the app accessible and valuable to hotel staff at different levels.
• Collaboration & Coordination:
  • Work closely with app developers, sustainability experts, and local hotel managers to ensure the app’s functionality meets the needs of the industry.
  • Assist in organizing workshops or focus groups to introduce the app to hotel staff and gather feedback for improvement.
• Sustainability Trend Analysis:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in sustainable tourism and hotel management, and incorporate relevant insights into the app’s features and functionality.
  • Support the development of case studies or success stories that can be shared through the app to inspire hotels to adopt green practices.

Requirements:

• Academic Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field at VinUni.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Basic understanding of sustainable tourism and green standards in the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to work with content management tools and collaborate in the development of digital applications.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Language Requirements: Proficiency in Vietnamese and English.
• Time Commitment: Flexible hours, approximately 10-15 hours per week. Ability to work both on-site and remotely as needed.
