Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between VinUniversity and Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee
On April 2, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and VinUniversity held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony to cooperate in building the Green Transformation Master Plan for Khanh Hoa Province. Attending the ceremony were representatives from Khanh Hoa Province including Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Tran Hoa Nam – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee. On the side of VinUniversity were Dr. Le Mai Lan – Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, President of VinUniversity; Prof. Laurent El Ghaoui – Vice Provost of Research & Innovation cum Dean of College of Engineering & Computer Science, VinUniversity.
At the ceremony, representatives of Khanh Hoa Province and VinUni signed an MoU on cooperation in the fields of Research on science, technology, and innovation; Improving the quality of human resources; Deploying activities to promote green transformation and green growth based on science and technology. The cooperation method between the two parties will be based on information sharing, connecting domestic and foreign human resources in science, technology and innovation related to the field of green transformation and green growth based on compliance with regulations provisions of Vietnamese law; Coordinating to implement research and training activities along with activities on green transformation and green growth; Research, develop and implement the Green Transformation Master Plan for Khanh Hoa province in the period of 2024 – 2030; Monitoring and evaluating the project implementation results.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh said that according to Resolution 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the goal of Khanh Hoa province to 2030 is to become a centrally run city and aim to become a leading locality in reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero. To achieve this goal, many criteria and standards need to be implemented, Khanh Hoa province chooses the field of green transformation associated with green growth as a prioritized goal to position the value of Nha Trang city in particular and Khanh Hoa province in general, creating differences and competitive advantages over other localities. Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh also suggested that VinUniversity needs to survey, carefully calculate, and evaluate the feasibility of projects in implementation, thereby recommending the priorities in the implementation process; the output products must provide specific policy recommendations for the province.
