Job Title: Student Research Assistant – Green Transformation Case Studies
Location: Nha Trang/Khanh Hoa/Binh Dinh, Vietnam
Duration: Flexible (Part-time, with potential for extended work)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Research Assistant to help develop and write case studies on green transformation initiatives implemented by local communities, businesses, and organizations in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa and Binh Dinh. This role provides an exciting opportunity to explore the region’s sustainability efforts, capture innovative environmental practices, and contribute to documenting impactful green transformation stories.
The successful candidate will work closely with local stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, businesses, and community leaders, to identify, research, and document sustainable practices across various sectors such as waste management, renewable energy, eco-tourism, sustainable agriculture, and conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Case Study Development:
- Conduct in-depth research on green transformation initiatives in Nha Trang/Khanh Hoa/Binh Dinh, including identifying key projects, individuals, and organizations leading sustainability efforts.
- Collect data through interviews, surveys, field visits, and secondary research to build a comprehensive understanding of each initiative.
- Write clear, detailed, and engaging case studies that highlight the challenges, strategies, and successes of green transformation efforts.
- Present each case study with an emphasis on lessons learned, best practices, and the long-term impact on the local community and environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with local stakeholders, including community leaders, environmental organizations, local businesses, and government representatives, to gather first-hand insights and testimonials.
- Assist in organizing and conducting interviews, site visits, and surveys to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
- Sustainability Trend Analysis:
- Track and analyze trends in green initiatives across Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa/ Binh Dinh, identifying patterns, challenges, and opportunities for scaling up sustainable practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different green initiatives and their potential for replication in other regions of Vietnam.
- Report & Documentation:
- Compile research findings and prepare well-structured reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and engagement for diverse audiences.
- Contribute to the development of content for publications, websites, and other platforms showcasing Nha Trang/Khanh Hoa’s green transformation efforts.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work with the research team, local experts, and partners to refine case study topics and ensure alignment with regional sustainability goals.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and share ideas for presenting green initiatives in compelling ways.
Requirements:
- Academic Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Tourism, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Business Administration or a related field at VinUni.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong research skills, including the ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex environmental topics in a clear and engaging manner.
- Interest in sustainability, green initiatives, and environmental issues, particularly as they relate to tourism and local communities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a critical thinking approach to problem-solving.
- Language Requirements: Proficiency in Vietnamese and English.
- Time Commitment: Flexible hours, approximately 10-15 hours per week. Ability to work on-site and remotely as needed.
